How To Join

Becoming a Member of the Club

If you are interested in joining our club, the easiest way is to come along to one of our meetings as a visitor, free of charge and with no obligation. You will then be able to get comfortable with the proceedings, and even participate in Table Topics if you wish.

You will be able to observe how we practice public speaking in a friendly, supportive and good-humoured atmosphere.

As a visitor you will receive a welcome kit with further information about our club and about Toastmasters, as well as a Glenbrook Toastmasters Club Membership Form. When you are ready to join, you will need to fill in the application form and pay the joining fee, as well as a pro-rata membership fee. Club's Direct Deposit Details

After you have joined, you will receive a New Member Kit from Toastmasters International, containing two manuals that will get you started in both Communication and Leadership tracks.

  • The Competent Communication manual comprises a series of 10 prepared speech projects, leading to the 'Competent Communicator' award. Your first prepared speech is the 'Ice Breaker'
  • The Competent Leadership manual comprises a series of 10 projects, which you complete by serving in various club meeting roles. This leads to the 'Competent Leader' award.

Our current fees are as follows:

  • One-off joining fee: $50.00
  • Semi-annual membership fees: $72.00, due in September and March

Toastmasters membership fees are generally tax-deductible if your participation in Toastmasters is intended to further your professional career.
